What Causes Delayed Periods?

hi. i have my last period bleeding on 17 march and spouse to having periods on 24 April. i am having irregular periods. now it is 12 and still i cant get my periods. i done 2 time beta HCG test first time on 26th april it shows 1.20 and now today and it shows 0.100. what is the possible reasons of delay.

Hi, I think delay in periods can be due to different reasons. It can be due to some stress factor or hormonal imbalances. You can take some medicines like meprate or deviry for inducing periods. If it happens again, get a thyroid profile and prolactin level and a ultrasound done to see uterus and ovaries to find out the cause of irregular periods. Hope it helps.

@ Delayed periods are obviously related to hormone imbalance which may
be from variety of reasons as - polycystic ovary syndrome - uterine
conditions as endometrial inflammation , fibroids - stress - systemic
issues as fever , thyroid disturbances or else need to be evaluated with
necessary work up in form of Laboratory data & Ultrasound of abdomen
& pelvis .
