What Causes Delayed Periods?

Hiii... my last period was 7 September and I took 3 pregnancy test. All comes negative I went for doctor she advice me to take m2tone and folic acid still I m not getting my periods.. it s 20 days late.... whether it s confirm that I m not pregnant yet???????

Thanks for contacting with your health concern.

1. It can be upsetting and confusing when your period is late and there are no positive signs of pregnancy, so it could be due to certain lifestyle changes were done recently [if any] like:
- excessive stress
- loosing or putting too much of weight
- heavy exercises
- suffering from PCOD [polycystic ovarian disease] or having a high level of prolactin [hormone]

PS. since UPT is negative so it is best to seek suggestion to know why you have missed your periods, a Gynecologist would be ideal to consult, simply taking M2 tone will not help with the problem, do seek/consult a doctor for appropriate examination/investigations.
