What Causes Delayed Periods?

Hello dr gud mrng my last period was on 13 of jan every month i use get my mens 5 to 6 days befor but today its 14 n i checked woth pregtest card and the result is negativ can you plz tell me what exactly the reason cud be thank you waiting fa ua reply....

Hello,

The delayed period could be due to hormonal imbalance because of changing of birth control pill. I would suggest waiting for a period. If period will delay by more than fourteen days from the expected period date, consult the gynecologist for detailed examination.

For investigations of irregular menstruations. You may be asked for hormonal work up like FSH, LH, Oestrogen, Progesterone, Prolactin, etcetera. Before hormonal check-up, you will be examined internally to find any organic disease like infection or cyst-ultrasonography also will reveal a good amount of information regarding your internal organs (and even pregnancy also). Avoid stress, take a healthy diet, drink plenty of water and do regular exercise.
