What Causes Delayed Periods?

My wife has missed period this month.We are married for last 2 months and have normal sexual relation.We use gel lubrication while intercource.Also she had taken contraceptive pills (i-Pill, 3 times) in a month in May.During marriage my wife had delayed her period.She had a period after a week.Can this be a cause for delayed period or is she pregnant?
