What Causes Delayed Periods?

i m 28 years old female .i have missed my periods.it usually comes after 28 day of last moth day.i have done home pregnancy test at it came -ve.(after a week when i missed m periods) i am not experiencing any of the early symptoms of pregnancy .also i have no white discharge scince i missed m periods what should i do next?
