What Causes Delayed Periods?

The menstrual cycle for my wife started on 28th of November last month. Her cycle varies from 28-30 days . Today is 1st of January and her cycle has yet not started. We had our intercourse from 10th - 13th day of the commencement of her last cycle. Please suggest the reason for such a delay this time.

If she is not getting her period as expected and not using any form of contraception, please take a home pregnancy test to rule out pregnancy.
