What Causes Dent That Runs From One Side Of Head To Other?

My husband has notice the last couple of days a dent that run from one side of his head to the other side. It's a slight dip and run in a straight line. Front part of his head. Any idea what this could be? Sure wish I had the money to figure out what this could be. He is stubborn and will not goto a doctor
