What Causes Depression Along With Short Term Memory Loss?

I am suffering may be depression. I have a very poor short term memory. This has led to job loss because I was unable to remember where I was going of doing if given more than one thing to do. I also had trouble if I was trying to do something and was sidetracked by someone else. Some background-I am a hydrocephalic. I have had more than 20 surgeries over my lifetime for my condition-most recent was 2005. My short term memory was never good. However, now it is terrible. I need some direction as to where i should turn next. I

Hello,

In my opinion, you should definitely consult neuro physician first.

Since you had hydrocephalus, the possibility of brain-related pathology is more likely for your recent memory loss.

So consult neuro-physician and get done a clinical examination, MRI and EEG (electro encephalogram) of the brain.

These will diagnose your problem and so appropriate treatment can be started.
