What Causes Depression And Disorientation In A Person?

I have a friend who woke up a week ago not knowing who he is. He has tried to kill himself, and now is in a psychiatric facility. He had an MRI on his brain and they did not find anything, but I m afraid he has some sort of infection. Any suggestions?

Hi,
From history it seems that he might be having acute depression producing all these symptoms.
As he developed suicidal tendecy keep him under streak watch under psychiatrist supervision.
Give him medicine as prescribed by psychiatrist regularly.
