What Causes Depression And Irregular Sleeping Habits?

I sometimes feels too happy and sometimes too sad. Am i suffering from depression ? Though i can t sleep at night and i early morning i need sleep . It s not possible for me to sleep at morning because i ve to go to college and spends my entire afternoon and evening sleepings. It wastes my day and feel too much depressed over small things . I am not a drug addict but sometimes i smoke and consume liquor. Do i need antidepressent s? If yes then suggest me the names of them. I am 18.5 years and i ve well built muscular and little fatty body

Hi,
I had gone through your question and understand your problem.
I would suggest you not to take any medications by yourself. Stop smoking and drinking liquor. Engage in the activities in which you are interested like listening music, reading positive books, watching good shows on TV, any kind of sport activity, swimming, etc. I would also suggest you to do meditations daily for at least 20 minutes, it really helps in stabilizing mood. Talk with people and make new friends and take life positively. Before going to sleep, eat a banana, which will helpful in sound sleep.
If the problem persists for long, then you need to consult a psychiatric to confirm the diagnosis of mood disorder and start treatment.
