Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello
Welcome to HCM.
Peri-partum depression (depression during pregnancy) is a common problem.
Most certainly you shoul visit a psychiatrist for detailed evaluation and treatment.
Here i must tell you that safest antidepressant (if required in your case after psychiatrist's evaluation) in pregnancy is sertraline(prescription drug). Please discuss this with your doctor.
I would like to tell that mood swings can also occur normally in pregnancy. Psychiatrist will help you in this.
Hope this helps you.
Thanks.
