64 y/o RN kicked to the curb by Employer of 20 years (Hospital). 40 year career is over L & I Claim reopening NOT within 7 years of Original Closure Date; Cervical Injury 3/28/2007, after 7 successful Neurotomies, pain returned 9 months later. No other treatment. Closed 05/05/2011 Returned to work in PAIN (depression, anxiety, insomnia, fatigue) Well documented but Subjective Excellent support from Primary & Neurosurgeon (tho no surgical repair) who worked at the Hospital. 8 months for IME, what a joke, then another IME 4 months later (took 10 min to examine me). Self Insured, L & I granted them multiple extensions as they did NOT meet deadlines Did not know they could Protest, even tho NO documentation provided & put in Abeyance for 8 months. Took 15 months to Deny . No Time Loss, No Pension. Lost everything. Did NOT understand why my Job Performance deteriorated until saw Psychiatrist. Too Late Involuntary Termination due to medical reasons (cervical pain, migraines) disability & Chronic Pain Syndrome that NO body cares about. They terminated me because of my Disabilities but because of Claim Denial, even tho they didn t follow Disciplinary protocol, and did not have WSNA respresentation as I was told meetings not disciplinary yet received 3rd & Final Verbal Warning. Too late to file with EEOC. So only option there would be Civil Litigation I don t have funds to pursue. 2nd Attorney (on contingency) says we re done. Nursing was my passion, I excelled at taking care of patients. I was head of household for 40 years, supported my family, My SSDI is $2000. per month. Psychologically, I m a mess. Can t LET GO & feel rejected, unproductive & wronged Unable to find joy in anything, just drowning in my tears. Thank you for listening. juli
