I had a hysterectomy in February. I still have my ovaries but they removed my uterus and cervix. I just had a physical and I have been on HRT for many years. The doctor reduced my estrogen dosage two weeks ago. I noticed that I am getting really agitated and depressed more than usual. I am on anti-depressants. Is this due to the reduced estrogen?
Hi, dear I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
You have gone through hysterectomy. It has no relation with your depression. Mild depression is common in post menopausal age and you are on HRT. So, reduction in dosage of estrogen may be the reason or you may have mental stress and that leads to depression.
You are already on antidepressant so you need to consult your psychiatrist and need counselling. After that if required he will change the dosages of antidepressant. It require proper face to face counselling so not possible to prescribe on internet.
