What Causes Development Of Citrobacter Koseri Between Toes?

Where does CITROBACTER KOSERI come from. I recently had this type of infection in between two of my toes. The doctors had me on infusions of antibotics for 5 days straight and oral medication as well. My foot has healed, it was caught before spreading or affecting any other toes. Where could it have come from?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, i do care for your concern.
The citrobacter species are most commonly found in human gut as normal flora.
however it may also present in soil, water ect.. that may cause infection in single person.
person to person transmission may also occur.
since the site of infection suggest you may have acquired, from contaminated soil or water.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
thank you.
