What Causes Dialated Pupils After Putting Eye Drops?

I was having trouble with one of my contacts while at work. I didn t have my eye solution so I grabbed an old unidentified bottle of over the counter eyedrops and used them in only my left eye. About a half hour later I noticed my left eye was almost fully dilated! Im hoping it had something to do with the eyedrops but am nervous.

Hello there,
There are eye drops available for pupil dilation and this is done for helping the doctor in getting a better view of retina. Also used for treatement and diagnostic purpose. However the effect of such drops on pupil dilation will depend on the the drops. As in some cause dilation for 6 hours or less and then return back to normal .other drops can last upto 14 hours or more. during that period vision will be blurred but not to be worried . As the effect of drops wanes off the pupil gets back to normal and restore your vision.
