What Causes Diarrhea Along With Nausea And Muscle Cramps?

For a duration of consecutive five days now, I have had trouble sleeping due to severe and constant diarrhea, muscle cramps, muscle aches, nausea, back aches... How long do I wait before this is dangerous? I never had these symptoms of for this long of time... I am a 60 year old white male with diabetes (controlled by Metformin 1000 MG). I had a mini-stroke 5 years ago and am on high blood pressure medicine and statins for high cholesterol... Please advise...Thank-you...

Thanks for posting your query on HCM
I have read and understood your concern
Diarrhea may be caused by medical conditions like digestive viral, bacteria or parasitic infections....I will suggest you see the Doctor for examination and tests.Tests that may help identify the cause of your problem may include: stool exam/culture and sensitivity test, full blood count. Ionic imbalances that come with diarrhea may explain other symptoms you present.Your Doctor may also request for serum electrolytes if need be.In the meantime, i will advise you try the following:
*If diarrhea too frequent, you may take an anti-diarrheal like imodium
*If abdominal pain/cramps, you take an anti-spasmodic pain drug like spasfon
*Take enough fluids(water) to replenish fluid losses.
Your Doctor will take care of the rest after the results of the tests.
