Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Diarrhea with blood and mucus suggests dysentery, and needs antibiotic treatment. I used to give antibiotics like Cefixime for 5 days, along with Zinc and a Probiotic. Kindly discuss with your pediatrician as antibiotics needs prescription. Meanwhile, give her frequent sips of fluids like ORS to avoid dehydration. To avoid recurring, drink only boiled / RO-UV filtered water, avoid street foods / drinks outside.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
