What Causes Diarrhea And Severe Abdominal Cramps After Contact With Animals?

My daughter is currently doing research with dairy cattle. She has diahrea and stomach cramping. Different people have told her you can contract a type of bug from doing this type of work. She recently went to a doctor and he laughed when she suggested this. Can you help?

Hello,

The symptoms of your daughter seem to be related to gastroenteritis.

I suggest doing a stool test to confirm the diagnosis.

I recommend using an over the counter option for diarrhea such as Imodium.

I also suggest using a daily probiotic.

I recommend to drink liquids and eat a plain diet.
