What Causes Diarrhea And Stomach Cramps After Waking Up In The Morning?

My 12 year old daughter woke up this morning, had diarrhea, and is now complaining of severe stomach cramps. If is at the center, 2-3 inches above her belly button. She has not eaten anything. She has diarrhea again. I would say 4 hours after her first bowel movement. I gave her tums thinking it could have been indigestion but it s not helping at all.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

The symptoms of your daughter seem to be related to a gastroenteritis.

I suggest using anti diarrhea medications such as Imodium.

I also suggest giving Hydrolite solution such as Pedialyte.

I recommend to give her liquids and a plain diet.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contappct me again.

Kind regards!
