What Causes Diarrhea And Vomiting In A Toddler?

Hi my 2 years old toddler fecalysis result to Pus = 0 Bacteria = many, color : yellow consistency: soft.. no parasite seen. He had a soft stool 3x already since last night . 2x this morning. Then he had vomit once this morning when we tried to give him an hydrite drink.. I think its due to salty taste he doesnt want. So far he s still active. but during night time and morning sleeps.. he keeps rotating in bed facing on its abdomen. Please hope you can help me assess if I need to bring him to hospital ..thank you

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think he is suffering from viral gastroenteritis since the stool analysis shows no bacteria and parasites and according to his clinical presentation it looks like gastroenteritis.

I can recommend you oral rehydration. You can also take Tesol drug. If he continues to vomit, then go to the hospital for intravenous rehydration.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka
