What Causes Diarrhea, Fatigue And White Tongue After Having Unprotected Sex?

Hi dr. About 3 months ago I had unprotected vaginal sex with a sex worker and oral too....after 2 days I was suffering ao much ....from so fatigued ,diarrhea,mild fever white tongue. ...I got tests hiv ab/ab at 31,45,71,82,97... and 2 pcr rna tests at 75 and 82 all came negative its the first time I had sex with sex worker ....anyway im so worry because I feel fatigue untile now after 100 days im still feel fatigue ...I got test for all another disease all come negative but ebv and cmv possitve igg ....doctor please help me I feel I got hiv because this fatigue dont leave I didnt complain from any medical issues before :(

Hello. Thank you for writing to us

Your tests suggest that you are clear of HIV and the symptoms are most likely due to some other cause.
Antibody tests at 90 days post sexual contact are conclusive and since you had a post 90 day negative test, therefore you don't need to repeat any more test for HIV.
Positive IgG to EBV and CMV just indicates that you have been exposed to them in past and these are certainly not the cause for your symptoms.
This test would be positive in most individuals as these viruses are fairly common in general population and don't lead to any problem unless the person is immunocompromised e.g HIV patients.
Regarding the symptoms I would suggest that you visit an internal medicine specialist for a detailed examination and blood work and imaging studies to identify the actual underlying cause.
Tuberculosis needs to be ruled out if you stay in an tuberculosis endemic country.
