What Causes Diarrhea In A Diabetic While Having Inguinal Hernia?

I am presently in Ecuador at high altitudes and have to inguinal hernia is that will be operated on October 13 I have suffered from severe diarrhea is this normal please tell me the answer I have had diarrhea going on six days now along with that I am also diabetic I look forward to your answer

Diarrhea is never normal . It is most often due to viral or bacterial infection or sometimes due to indigestion or malabsorption.

You need to consult your doctor and get Stool Routine tests done and if required to be started on Anti biotics . Till then hydrate yourself well , drink plenty of water .

Hello,

Diabetes especially if uncontrolled decreases your immunity. It increases your risk of getting an infection. It is probable that you have an infective diarrhoea either from bacteria or from organisms called protozoa.
A stool examination may help reach a diagnosis.
