My 3.5 yr ild sin woke up this morning with diarrhea, and he has had it all day long since, we noticed the diarrhea has a really bad dead fish like smell to it, all he poops liquids and some mucus i ve found in his underwear as well, he is been on the toilet quite often, withing a period of every 20 minutes in the last hour. He threw up once as well and it was all water as well. any advise?
I share your concerns as your son has to suffer from diarrhoea. It is most probably an infective diarrhoea either viral or bacterial. It could be amoebiasis too. He may go for dehydration and dehydration in little kids can be life threatening. So immediately rush to the hospital.
Your son will require a stool microscopic test to identify the causative organisms behind diarrhoea. He will require antibiotic injections or syrups, intravenous fluids along with oral rehydration solutions , anti cramps medications. Please visit your general practitioner or paediatric specialist in your area. Meanwhile keep giving him good food and plenty of fluids and water.
I hope my reply will help you. Please write to us or me for more questions. I wish good health to your son. Kindly rate this reply. Thanks
