What Causes Diarrhea, Stomach Cramps And Nausea After Gall Bladder Surgery?
i recently had my gallbladder taken out in may. they have had me on chelspol. I bhave been taking it for two months and I m still having real bad dihaera and now my stomach cramps real bad and have sudden urge to go. Also have nausea. Somedays I don t even wanna leave my home. What could be causing this?
This type of abdominal presentation secondary to removal of gall bladder is favouring your diagnosis as Post cholecystectomy syndrome ......
It can occur in 10 to 40% patient of gall bladder removal...
Life style modification also needed apart from medication...
Like take low fat diet as gall bladder reservoir not present after its removal
For bile acid induced diarrhea cholestyramine or colestipol like drug prescribed (which I think you have been prescribed as per history)
Antispasmodic drug in additional can be prescribed for that
If abdominal pain associated and if condition worsening then USG abdomen done for further work up Then if needed ERCP like investigation can be done by your doctor (only if needed)
Take care
Hope your concern solved
