What Causes Diarrhea, Vomiting And Fatigue?

Have had diarrhea and vomiting from Sunday night into !Monday morn. Finally was relieved but very weak and tired. Started to feel better late afternoon/early evening on Monday- after keeping toast, water and Gatorade down, had some chicken and rice. Just woke up NW in middle of night with chest pains. Ended up vomiting more bile. Feel some relief. Should be concerned or is this trapped gas

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think you are having acute gastroenteritis (acute infection of the bowels). I advise keeping following BRAT diet (toast, chicken rice, applesauce, banana). Keep taking Gatorade and other oral rehydration salt and fluids to replace lost of electrolytes and fluids.

Take Tasectan or Pepto-Bismol to stop diarrhea.

If vomiting will get aggravating should consult with your physician as soon as possible as might need intravenous fluid treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini,
