What Causes Diarrhea While On Amoxicillin And Prednisone?

I have Sinusitis. Started with a cold 2 weeks ago. I am on amoxicillin & methyl prednisone among other things. This is my third day of the amox. I started the loose stool yesterday. Took med for that. I feel very tired & feverish . Tylenol helps. Occasional light nausea. What s going on. Do I need a follow up? Was in urgent care 2x. New in town.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I think diarrhea you are suffering, comes from the use of augmentine, as a side effect.

You can stop using augmentine and start another antibiotic that doesn't have this side effect. Bactrim may be effective. Consult your doctor before taking any medication.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
