What Causes Diarrhea While On Oxycodone, Fluoxetine And Citalopram?
I have been placed on oxycodone 15 mg 3 x daily, soma 350 w x daily, xanax 1.0 3 x daily, topomx 15 mg 2 x daily, imitrex 50 as needed, fluoxetine 20 mg 1 daily, citalopram 20 1 x daily. For the past two days I have been having waterway diarrhea. Could this be a medical reaction? My PCP believes that I may have IBS after being involved in a two car accident ten minutes apart almost 3 years ago.
I can understand your concern. You have been placed on Oxycodone, Fluoxetine, Xanax, Topiramate, Imipramine, Citalopram etc drug. Out of these drugs Fluoxetine and Citalopram both are SSRI drugs and in high doses are known to cause diarrhoea. Doses of all these medicines are high and should be reassessed. The diarrhoea could be occurring due to medicines. Consult your doctor for proper reevaluation.
Thanks, Hope this helps you. Take care
