What Causes Difficulty In Breathing During Pneumonia?

I have been diagnosed with pnemonia, and I am taking Leviflacin 500 mg once a day.... I have just taken my 5th pill of a ten day dose... I am having trouble breathing, about a level 7 out of ten.... I also have an inhaler that works right away, but then it s back to level 7... Thanks, Lori

Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this breathing difficulty that you have reported. The fact that an inhaler helps immediately makes it less likely to be caused by pneumonia. I would rather think that you have some form of asthma associated to this. Talk to your doctors to make sure that the know about this asthma like symptoms. Levifloxacin is a good drug for pneumonia and would be able to address it but your breathing difficulties seem to b more related to asthma than pneumonia.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thank you so much for using our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications should need be.
