What Causes Difficulty In Breathing Upon Lying Down?

Hi my son is saying when he lies down to go to sleep he feels like he can t breath properly. As if a brick is sitting on his chest, he also as a sensation on the front of his evil like someone is pinching him. And he feels like something is coming up his throat as if he will vomit. His ear feels like it needs to pop. Shoulders stiff. Slight dizziness as he sits up. Sometimes Tingle in hands/ fingers? feels breathing is better once he sits up. Sometimes he feels a fluttery feeling. sometimes after exertion he feels out of breath and coughs. He is 14. Very fit. Trains regularly as a rower. No previous operations besides a tonsillectomy and adenoids removed.

I really appreciate your concern, the symptoms may not be anything related with any disease but it could be nonspecific, still complete clinical examination with some tests are advisable like x-ray chest, EKG ECHO, because it would be necessary to rule out possibilities of some early disease of childhood, hope this information helps.
