What Causes Difficulty In Breathing With Rapid Heart Beat?

Hi, I'm a little scared. This started yesterday evening. I was sitting down and realized I was having trouble breathing. I was breathing really quickly. Than when that calm down I noticed my heart was beating very fast for no apparent reason. You would have thought I was running. And then my heartbeat was so strong I felt it. And my nerves are acting crazy too. What should I do?

the difficulty breathing may be related to anxiety. based on your symptoms this sounds like the most likely cause. this should be assesed by your doctor, as you may benefit from medications like SSRI, short course of benzodiazepines, and/or beta blocker. another potential cause is irregular heart rhythm..your doctor may also suggest a hotter monitor for 24 hrs to rule out abnormal rhythms
