What Causes Difficulty In Concentrating?

I am currently in college, and I have a hard time focusing in my classes, and when I sit down to study or do a project I can only focus for like 5 minutes before I have to do something else. I always seem to focus on one topic initially, but have a different thought a second later. My roommate has ADHD and he thinks I may have it to.

Hello dear. It happens with many students. There is nothing abnormal with it unless it bothers you a lot and affects your studies.

I personally dont feel you have ADHD. People with ADHD are either very inattentive- day dreaming, forgetting every minor details or Hyperactive- Talk non stop, very impatient, difficulty in sitting in one place etc.

If you feel you fit into that category you may have to consult a psychiatrist who will treat you with medications and counselling.

But if it is not so severe- follow some tips. 1. Get up early in the morning, go for a walk. 2. Regular physical exercise 3. Dont stress yourself 4. Develop good hobbies like music, sports 5. Keep yourself busy- an idle mind is devils workshop 6. Learn meditation techniques
