Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Difficulty In Concentration, Dizziness And Excessive Sleep?
Just trying to figure out what s wrong with me... I have difficult concentration and memory lapses off and on. Dizziness and whorl feeling in my head, sleep 8-9 hrs but wake up exhausted off and on. Hands fall asleep or go numb usually when totally relaxed. Frequent urination for a few yrs without it being an infection and get depressed because I know something is wrong with my head but it isn t all the time it s intermittent and at times I feel like putting my head in a vise grip and squeeze it
In my opinion, there is no reason to be worried and usually, this is just temporary and self-limiting. Excessive daytime sleepiness is common issues and should be considered in this case.. Excessive daytime sleepiness may be caused by conditions such sleep deprivation, metabolic disturbances, sleep apnoea, medications, neurological disorders such seizures and psychiatric disorders such depression. If emotional causes are ruled out then some tests can be done to confirm the diagnosis.
In my opinion, polysomnography (sleep study), is one of the necessary examinations in order to achieve a correct diagnosis. Please discuss with primary care doctor about these issues.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
