What Causes Difficulty In Eating Solid Food?

My daughter has been unable to eat solid food for 2 months. She is on a liquid diet + Miralax 3 times/ day. She s 5 5 and is down to 93 Lbs. She has been seeing a specialist and has had every test imaginable done. No one can figure out the problem. Could it be that some necessary enzymes are not breaking down the food or liquids.? She says her intestines are always contracting and trying. Could her colon be distended? Her last BM was in early Oct and was about 3 inches in diameter.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Consult a gastroenterologist and get evaluated.

We have to rule out possible causes like lump or growth in the throat.

You might require endoscopy for further assessment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
General & Family Physician
