What Causes Difficulty In Getting Pregnancy In Women With Irregular Periods?

hi, i have irregular periods but i have about 2 years not using birth control. my periods still dont come at all and i really want to have a baby. what should do ? another question i have is i had sex about 2 weeks ago i wanted to take a home pregnancy test but they day i wanted to take it i had sex before, if i take the test now will it come out negative should i just wait a week or so?

thanks for your query. I understand your concern.
Irregular periods many a times indicate absent ovulation.. which is a must for conception. You need to get consultation of a gynecologist & some investigations like ( ovulation study/ thyroid function test/ USG abdomen to note any ovarian problem ).After knowing basic cause, doctor will offer you specific treatment for correction of your cycles & ovulation.
Also to get your husband checked by a urologist / getting his semen analyzed after 3 days of abstinence & getting treatment as per need is also needful.
Once this is achieved, you should proceed for sex around your ovulation Day ( tested by LH surge test )..
- Pregnancy testing by home test is best done after 8 days delay in period.Sex before the test does not change the result. Only the urine sample is to be collected in a pre boiled bottle, with aseptic precaution( without being contaminated with vaginal discharge ).
