What Causes Difficulty In Insertion Of Copper T IUD?
Hi, I went to doctor and tried to insert copper t on the 5th day of my cycle. It was very painful and the doctor tried 4 times without any success and said the uterus was closed. I have two children and youngest is 18 month old. I ve had c section both times. Is there something wrong with me or is this a common problem.

Hi! thanks for writing to us and give me an opportunity for a discussion on the copper-T IUDs...!
No, this is not a common problem; the copper-T is usually inserted with ease and at first time/chance only in nearly 100% cases!
However, rarely, we face problems while inserting the device due to following reasons:
1. cervical canal stenosis due to previous cervical tears, scars, infection, growth etc.
2. stenosis or obliteration of endometrial cavity due to previous surgeries as in your case, Asherman's syndrome, endometrial curettings, growth, infection etc.
