What Causes Difficulty In Movement Of Right Arm And Leg While Having Dementia?

My 98 year old mother lives in an assisted living facility only minutes from my home. Lately she has complained of not being able to move her right arm and right leg. Yet, I have watched her move these limbs very well. She has dementia, and I don t know if we should seek medical advice. The EMTs have come twice in the last week because of her symptoms.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

If she has been observed moving the limbs by yourself and others , then there is no need for her to be assessed especially if vertical movement is observed.

This means that she is moving the limbs upwards against gravity not just side to side while rested on the bed or chair. If she can only move them with support and is unable to lift against gravity, then may need assessment.

I hope this helps
