What Causes Difficulty In Speaking And Severe Headache?

Last night I was afraid I was having a stroke. I was laying on my couch, my son was talking with me and all of a sudden I felt like I couldn t talk. I tried to answer him but couldn t get the word on, at least not where he could understand. He kept saying what s wrong with you, than I felt a severe headache and I seemed to pass out. When I woke up much later, my head still hurt but I was now able to move and talk. I don t drink alcohol, smoke.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The sudden inability to speak with severe headache indicate most possible issue with TIA (transient ischemic attack) affecting various regions of cerebrum and other brain areas. I would request a neurologist opinion and evaluation as he or she may require an MRI to be evaluated for avoiding future hassles of health in concern with cerebral circulation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
