What Causes Difficulty In Swallowing After Experiencing Choking?

I choked on a piece of steak at supper. After much coughing and wheezing I can talk and breath easily but feel food is stuck. I cannot swallow even a little water. A lot of water just came out my nose when I tried a big gulp. This was five hours ago and I still can t swallow water. I ve tried to my myself throw up but am not successful.

Hello welcome to the health care magic

You can have acute pharyngitis or Laryngitis like presentation.

Your work up done as follow..
_posterior pharynx examination
_indirect laryngoscopy examination (opd procedure)
_CBC
_if needed than x ray or Barium examination study

Mostly it will be pharyngitis or Laryngitis like presentation

If needed doctor will prescribe you short term betamethasone course for five days

Consult otorhinolaryngologist for examination with keeping my answer in mind

Hope this will help you
