What Causes Difficulty In Swallowing And Tightening In The Throat?
My son is 20 years old and is experiencing difficulty swallowing for the past year or so. When he swallows he feels tightening in his throat right by his adam apple. The Dr. s have looked for reflux with an endoscope and did the Barium swallow test. Both came out normal. I am at a loss and going to see an ENT on Friday. What should we be looking for? Blood work, CAT Scan of throat? I am very worried

It is a good decision to consult with ENT. There are many reasons for tightening in his throat like infection, allergies, GERD (excluded in your case) and thyroid enlargement or anxiety. Consult with doctor.
