What Causes Difficulty In Swallowing Food?

I seem to sometimes have a hard time swallowing food, for some reason it appears to get stuck half way down after swallowing. So I wait and see if it goes down, and then I take a sip of water and then it hurts and food is still stuck, and then my jaws start to feel tingly and I start to get a lot of saliva. I can get up and some times it goes down a little, but I can still feel it there. Then I can take a Tums and it seems to clear it up, till the next time I have something to eat. Now, this past week my chest feels tight along with the food getting stuck. I am now wondering what type of dr. I should go to for a diagnoses.

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Your problem is most likely pharyngitis or esophagitis due to acid reflux. In such case i advise proton pump inhibitors like rabeperazole and anti emetic domperidone for two weeks. Taking vitamin c also will be helpful in healing any lesions present. Hope this may help you.
Let me know if you have any further queries.
Thanks
