What Causes Difficulty In Swallowing Food?

My 14 yr old son is having swallowing difficulties. He says his throat is sore . Swallowing is a challenge as he puts it. Fluids are coming back down his nose. He has been to GP (nurse practitioner) PX antibiotics but advised to wait 24hrs to see if any improvement taking ibofen and paracetomol. NO IMPROVeMENT so no started antibiotics????

Hi ,Can understand your concern. As per your query about sore throat and difficulty while swallowing can be a common viral infection in throat and pharynx.you need not to worry and continue the prescribed medications for 2-3 days more .If no improvement seen you should consult a physician for a proper throat examination and investigation. Warm saline gargles should be done.Give him soft and liquid diet in small sips.
