What Causes Difficulty In Swallowing Post Tonsillectomy Leading To Hypersalivation?

It s been over a year since I had my tonsillectomy, ever since I have been getting food lodged in the holes that were left after the surgery. It takes a few hours for the food to become dislodged and it s causing halitosis and hypersalivation. Also the sensation of having the food remaining in my throat is uncomfortable and unpleasant as the food never goes down my throat when it dislodges.

Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query.
The food lodgement following surgery can be because of the formation of pouch at the site of surgery. Nothing to be panic, consult an ENT surgeon and get it evaluated. Mean while you can use mouth washes like chlorhexidine.
I hope I have answered your query, take care.
