What Causes Difficulty In Swallowing While Recovering From Sore Throat?

I feel like I m swallowing marbles every time I swallow. I ve recently and am recovering from a very sore throat and swollen lymph nodes. I went to the doctors and they tested for strep which initially came back as negative. Should I go to the doctors or wait it out?

Thanks for posting your query to Healthcaremagic.

Apart from streptococcus there could be other causes of Soar throat and swollen nodes like Mono, Staphylococcus or other bacteria or Virus .

I advise you to get a Throat swab Culture sensitivity test done . This will tell us whether it is due to a viral infection or bacterial infection as treatment is different for both.

Till you get the test report do salt water gargling, drink hot water, Avoid Non veg and oily food . Avoid Citrus Fruits.

Once you get the report consult your doctor for further definitive treatment.
