What Causes Difficulty In Swallowing While Suffering From Strep Throat?

I recently finished a round of amoxicillin due to having strep throat.. Since finishing, I m now having trouble swallowing. It actually feels swollen in the lower part of my throat and feels like the flap inside my throat closes easily when exhaling.. I am also experiencing bad stomach aches after eating and am not able to eat as much.. Any thoughts on what this may be?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is due to inflammation in the throat.

You can do warm saline gargles for symptomatic relief.

If symptoms persist better to consult a physician and start on antibiotics.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
