I am 35 years. I have some unusual feeling when swallowing like there is something on my throat. when I open my mouth and view on the mirror I am seeing something like a tongue from the lower part. I can even touch it. Yesterday I started having watery mucus running from my nose. What could this be please help.
Hi. The causes of difficulty in swallowing can be : The Globus Hystericus, wherein the patient feels something is stuck but actually there is no lump or swelling or something to cause this and this is usually related to the anxiety or so. As you can see and feel something , this looks to be an epiglottis and usually is not seen or felt in adults. This indicated possibility of some mass. The best way to get a proper diagnosis is To for for an endoscopy, biopsy and CT scan of the neck. The treatment will depend upon the findings. Watery mucus from the nose is an associated finding.
