What Causes Difficulty In Walking After Injuring The Feet?
My husband fell on my foot a week and a half ago. It swelled up like a balloon and bruised. Went to the er the day after it happened and they took xray s. No broken bones. Followed up with my dr. a few days later and they told me to rest. My question is, now that the swelling is completely gone and the bruising, why does my fore foot hurt so much. I also have a hard lump on the side of my inner foot that hasn t gone away. Could they have missed a stress fracture? I still can t walk, should I go back to my dr.
It is not likely that a fracture was missed but if the pain is very severe, then you should definitely be reassessed by your doctor.
The lump may be due to the formation of fibroid/scar tissue as a result of the trauma. This can take weeks to months to decrease in size and in some cases it is not complete
It is possible, if no bony injury is confirmed, then it may mean that there is serious injury to the ligaments or muscles in the area. In addition to rest, warm therapy, protecting the area from further harm and medications, physiotherapy may be required
I hope this helps
