Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Difficulty In Walking, Headaches, Sleeplessness And Weight Gain After Taking Isosorbide?
I have been taking isosorbide for almost nine months. Looked up side effects yesterday and it seems I have several. Is this really the safest medication I can take. I have had 3 stents put in my left leg in two surgeries, two in Sept. 2016 and 1 in Feb. 2017. Still having trouble walking, headaches, trouble sleeping, weight gain, and just started vomiting.
The symptoms that you are experiencing are the side effects of taking Isosorbide dinitrate.
If you are in much discomfort you need to report to the treating doctor, so that you can be examined to rule out if there is any complicating pathology developing.
The PCP may need to either change the dosage of the medication prescribed or give some other alternative medication that suits you better.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
