General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The thyroid gland is in front of the neck and if it is enlarged or has a mass it may cause direct pressure on the throat and may cause pressure sensation and also affect the local functions like swallowing causing difficulty with it.
It is important that you follow the instructions of your doctor and get the proper treatment for it as already planned.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
