Brief answer: BELL'S PALSY/
FACIAL PARALYSIS..
Hi..
Can understand your concern..
As per your complain and explanation of the symptoms it seems that you have BELL'S PALSY which is due to trauma or infection to the seventh cranial nerve known as Facial Nerve which supplies the muscles of face and any disorders associated with this nerve can cause paralysis of the face on affected side of face..
Most commonly infection is caused by viruses like Varicella Zoster and Epstein Barr Virus..
Dental Anesthesia injections for lower teeth can also cause pricking of the nerve and subsequent paralysis..
At times tumors, cysts ( very few times) or accidental trauma to nerve can also cause nerve compression and injury and paralysis..
I would suggest you to
consult a dentist and get evaluated for the cause of the paralysis..
In case of viral infection steroid and
antiviral medication can relieve..
You should do hot compresses over the paralysed side of face to relieve pain..
In case of difficulty in closing the eye, the eye should be kept covered as there can be drying of the eye and can cause corneal damage, for this you should also instill
artificial tears in the eyes
Physiotherapy for
facial muscles can help in regaining muscle strength and stimulating the facial nerve..
In case of cyst or tumors compressing over the nerve decompression of nerve by removal of the same can help..
Hope this information helps..
