What Causes Difficulty Walking And Numbness In Toes Post Ankle Injury?

I hurt my ankle at basketball practice. I landed on it and it popped but didn t roll to either side. I rested it for a whole week and iced every night. It never bruised but it hurt very bad. It s been a couple months and if I don t wear an ankle brace any physical activity has the possibility of landing the wrong way and it hurting badly for days. If it helps my toes went numb when I hurt it.
